Rodding/Slab Consolidation

Stone fabricators use techniques called rodding and slab reinforcement to strengthen their
stone. The rodding is achieved by cutting slots into the bottom of the slab. Next a rod is
inserted in the slot and adhesive is poured in. This is done in problem areas including sink
areas or a long slab.
Another method of reinforcement is the lamination of fiberglass to the
back of stone slabs or unsound material with epoxy.
