Color Matching Stone with Resins

Color Matching Stone with Resins

You may have the artist eye or have no clue when it comes to color matching your stone with an adhesive or patching system. A great resource to have is a color wheel. When color matching your stone, start by adding small amounts of the base tint color (dominant color in your stone) to the part A resin. If the match you create is too strong in a color, simply add a small amount of the color directly opposite on the color wheel. For example, if you have too much red in the mix add a little green. In some cases, you may have to use the two opposite colors to lessen the intensity and tone of the color. Have a good range of available colors since some of the tints are more intense than others, meaning you only need a little of one vs more of another color. Color wheels are available at most art supply stores.  For more information on our colored tints click here
